EXHIBITION OF PICTURE POETRY
AT LAKEWOOD CO-OP
KATHERINE RUDOLPH
1. CRYSTAL CROSS
Crystal cross of matter
Hewn into the earth;
Brightness enter inward.
Bring the light to birth
2. TREASURE TROVE
The treasure is the poem,
The process of the quest
Has come to rest:
A transit of gemstones,
Carry them home!
3. PERSEVERANCE
Quiet the qualms
Continue the quest
To the quintessence…
4. THE LEGEND
From the portal
To the shelter-
Touch the rock of old.
Find the seed,
For here it’s planted
‘Seed beneath a stone’
As in legends told.
On the day
When moonshine dancing
Plays upon the leaf,
Pluck the blossom
It is bearing.
It will bring no grief.
Sing to it
With untold pleasure,
For it’s bound
To live forever.
5. PEACEFUL ABODE
Night is free.
Let it be.
Gone the past-
Peace at last.
With each year
It grows clear:
Seeking change
Is the way
To progress.
Then we rest.
Shelter us
Earthly crust.
Bring the balm.
And the calm.
6. AN ISLAND
An island provides a place of rest:
An abode for people in distress.
Where one reviews the trials of soul
To heal the wounds and find new goals.
When riddles are unravelled and unspun,
Battles endured and also won.
New paths are forged,
Which have not yet been tread.
And words are found,
Which have not yet been said.
7. TIME INTO SPACE
Time into space,
Fashioned by grace,
Strongly revere
This earthly sphere.
8. UNDERGROUND
In the old home underground
Crystal seeds for future planting
Have all been gathered
Safe and sound…
9. COMMUNITY
New impulses
Can now arise
Born of community striving.
Help to bring forth
The courage
To set our ideas in motion.
10. POSITIVITY
Onward! Ever onward.
Openly overcoming obstacles.
Originating opportunity,
Order.
Observing abeyance
Create quality questions.
Continue to quit quarrelling.
11. CHANGE
Challenges,
The unexpected
Open up the door.
Spontaneous
Now formed and fashioned,
No one will be bored.
So:
Change is what
Will e’er abide,
And help
To turn the tide.
12. HOME
Golden dawn
Going strong
Light, your load.
Sing a song!
Now we’re here
The coast is clear.
Peace inside
Now abide.
Heroes bold
On the road
Open doors-
Home once more.
Welcome!
13. ADAPTABILITY
Open to change
Where freedom reigns.
Inventing new ways,
New groups
And new days!
14.REST
Cool the mind
In times of stress.
Create a pause
To ease the breath.
Bring forth the rest
That calms distress.
A stream of water
Downward bound,
Whirls of froth
Come rolling down.
Abiding soon
In pools and lakes,
They give the heart
A welcome break.
15. POLARITY
In darkness, lights!
The fiery ice.
Opposites shine…
Inside the mountain,
Sparks that incline.
